Lunch Club – Mike’s Fried Rice

Tuesday is Mike’s (not his real name to protect his identity) day to prepare lunch. Being from the Lion City a lot was expected from him. Singapore is quite well known for its cuisine after all. Who could resist Chilli Crab prepared Singapore style? I couldn’t! Then there’s the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice! What about a steaming plate of Char Kuay Teow (I don’t really know how to spell this, I just know it sounds that way)? Or a bowl of Curry Laksa! Yum!

Our table for today

But were not having any it! *sigh* For today Mike has lovingly prepared fried rice (his style) for us! It’s chock full of ingredients including ham, dried shrimps, egg and...cabbage?!?!?!?!?! What the?!?!?!?!?!?! It certainly wasn’t traditional Singaporean fried rice!

the ever present cucumber salad (for balance) and the fried rice (close up)

The fried rice was a bit on the wet side but it certainly was flavoursome!
